Installing FCR as an app

FCR runs in your web browser, but you can also install it so it opens in its own window — like a regular app — from your dock, taskbar, or phone home screen. It's the same FCR either way; installing just makes it faster to get to and gives you a clean, full-screen view without browser tabs and address bars.

FCR needs an internet connection

The installed app isn't an offline version. It connects to FCR the same way the browser does, so you'll need to be online to use it. For privacy and security, FCR deliberately keeps no case data stored on your device.

Install on a computer (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Sign in to FCR at youragency.myfcr.org.
  2. Look at the right end of the address bar for an install icon (a small monitor or screen with a downward arrow).
  3. Click it and choose Install.
  4. FCR opens in its own window and adds itself to your dock (Mac) or taskbar / Start menu (Windows).

If you don't see the icon, open the browser menu (the three dots) and look for Install FCR… or Apps → Install this site as an app.

Install on an iPhone or iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and sign in to FCR at youragency.myfcr.org.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The FCR icon appears on your home screen.
Use Safari on iPhone/iPad

"Add to Home Screen" only works from Safari on Apple devices — not from Chrome or other browsers on iOS.

Install on an Android phone (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and sign in to FCR at youragency.myfcr.org.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots).
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen).
  4. Confirm. The FCR icon appears on your home screen.

Using and removing the app

  • Open it like any other app — from your dock, taskbar, or home screen.
  • Sign in the same way you do in the browser, including two-step verification.
  • Remove it any time by uninstalling or deleting the icon, exactly like other apps. Removing it doesn't affect your FCR account or data.

FAQ

Is the app different from the website? No — it's the same FCR. Installing changes how you open it and gives you a full-screen window, not what's inside.

Can I use FCR offline once it's installed? No. FCR requires an internet connection, and it intentionally doesn't store case information on your device.

I don't see an install option on my computer. Make sure you're in Chrome or Edge and signed in, then check the browser menu for an "Install" option. Some managed/work computers disable installing apps — if so, just keep using FCR in the browser.
