Common-goals library
The common-goals library is a reusable set of goals and objectives your agency maintains, so staff members can pull a ready-made goal into a treatment plan instead of typing it from scratch every time. It's an optional convenience that keeps goal language consistent across your agency.
Practice managers build and maintain the library. Any staff member can then pull from it while writing a treatment plan.
How it's organized
The library is arranged as categories → goals → objectives:
- Categories group related goals (for example, by area of work).
- Goals sit under a category.
- Objectives are the specific, measurable steps under each goal.
You can also set target timeframes on objectives, so a pulled-in goal arrives with sensible due dates already suggested.
Building the library
- Go to the common-goals library in your settings.
- Add categories, then the goals under them, then the objectives under each goal.
- Save. The library is immediately available to staff members building treatment plans.
How staff members use it
When a staff member builds a treatment plan, they can browse the library and pull a goal (with its objectives) straight in.
When a staff member pulls a library goal into a plan, FCR copies the text into that plan. From then on it's that plan's own goal — the staff member can edit it freely, and later changes you make to the library don't change plans that already used it. So you can refine the library over time without disturbing existing treatment plans.
Frequently asked questions
Do staff members have to use the library? No — it's a shortcut. Staff members can always write goals and objectives directly in a plan.
If I improve a library goal, do existing plans update? No. Pulling a goal into a plan copies it, so the plan keeps the version it pulled. Your edits apply only to goals pulled in after the change.
Who can edit the library? Practice managers maintain it. Staff members use it but don't edit the shared library.
